My father- in - law has an Actiontec GT701-WG wireless modem/ router connected directly via an ethernet cable to an HP desktop. Recently they added a macintosh Mini in their kitchen area. The Mini seems to sync up with no problem but after a time the connection is lost and can't be found again even though the HP directly connected can still access the internet.
Stangely this seems to coinside with the HP computer going into sleep mode. Is there a sleep mode in the modem/router too?
If so how do I turn it off.
If not what can I do to stabilize this connection and make it more reliable. My Inlaws are older and we are trying to simplify this setup to be as reliable and maintence free as possible.
