Default ATI Radeon X1300 Heat Duct

Ok, I bought the ATI Radeon X1300, yet i was careless enough to forget that my only PCI Express 16 pin slot is the top most PCI slot I have, so thusfor, the card as it stands, can not go in.

The card is duo-slot, and mainly because the heat duct. I am wondering if I could take the heat duct out and change the face so that it took over my PCI Express 1 pin slot, and thusfor not return the card.

If so, how should I go about doing both of these things.
