Default Can't connect to WL500G with WUSB54GC (Linksys)

Hi There,

I've recently bought a Linksys WUSB54GC USB Wifi adaptor but for some reason I can't connect to my router.
My router is a Asus WL500 g which has worked fine with every device I've tried, except this one.

I've installed the software, plugged in the adapter and let Windows install the drivers.
I can see my wireless network, and those of others, but for some reason I'm not able to connect to it.
Both the Linksys monitor tool and the Wireless Network tool from Windows are having the same problem.

I'm running Windows XP Pro (SP2) with all the recent patches installed.
My router is setup with a WPA / TKIP security.

Does anybody have a clue what I can do to make this combination work.

Kind Regards,

JacKR

Is that router capable of wpa-enterprise with TKIP? I guess you imply you had connected wirelessly before. For that level of security I thought you needed a RADIUS server or hosted RADIUS service like Witopia's, www.witopia.net to run that level of security. I thought the asus only does WEP. You may want to check the security capabilities of the adapter itself to make sure they match up with your router setting. I'd also make sure you don't have MAC-address filtering turned on. It doesn't really work anyways and may be blocking the new device.

Try falling back to WEP or disabling encryption temporarily to see if that fixes the problem. If it does, try updating the drivers for the Linksys card and router firmware before enabling WPA again. If all clients support it, try using AES instead of TKIP.
