Can't even get the config manager open (Edimax ew-7416apn v2)

Hi

I've just bought an Edimax ew-7416apn v2 so that I can extend my wireless connection into the basement.

The trouble is, I'm getting stuck at first base. I've tried using the wizard, with the Edimax device and my pc both wired up to my broadband router, and I've tried the manual instructions. I can get onto the web from the pc at the moment, but neither way that I'm trying is getting me access to the config manager of the edimax device. It keeps timing out.

I may be doing something really stupid, but as far as I can tell have followed the instructions thus far.

Any thoughts?

-Try to connect the Edimax directly to you computer.
