I have a D-Link D14+, which functions just fine as a router, splitting my cable connection between two computers. However, neither computer seems to know it's there, so I can't access its web-based configuration utility. It should have set my LAN IP address to 192.168.0.1 (I take it), but my connection retains the WAN address of the Roadrunner cable modem. If I change the IP manually I, of course, lose internet service, so I can't access the web-based config. Is there anything I can do about this?
Make sure you are typing the right address for the router.
Click Start > Run > The type 'command' > then in the ms-dos box type in 'ipconfig' (without the ' ' ) then depending on which connection method u are using to conect to the router (wireless or ethernet) you should see your routers address under the 'default gateway' section. If you still cannot connect try resetting the router using the small button normally located at the back or underneath the router, if all else fails i would take it back and get another.
