I'm new to wifi and routers.
I had this D-link router Dl-614+ (2 anttena model)
I got from a friend around nov. of last year. I put it away and
kinda forgot about it. Recently my friend was raving about Nintendo
DS wifi online play. He told me I should try (forgetting I had that dlink).
Long story short I got the Dlink up and running for both internet and DS
wifi(6hrs xD).
My prob. is that I seem to be loosing my connection after 2 hours. The
connection completly drops and only way I have found to fix this
is to unplug the router, wait 30sec and plug it back in. Is there an option
in the Router it self or in the nic card I should look for that can either
keep my connection alive to prevent me from loosing my connection?
Oh also I forgot to mention, I have updated the firmware.
I've seen this happen on a few different routers, it's usually a bug in the firmware and the companies that make the routers don't want to know about it. They usually stop supporting the routers after a period of time and no longer work on the firmware.
I don't have suggestions on how to fix it though, other than complain to d-link and hope that they can sort it out, or buy another router.
