Default Decreasing signal -- Intel Pro 2200BG, please help!

Hello guys!

I got an internal Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG built into my Toshiba laptop. I can connect to the surrounding networks, and I start out with great signal, but after I surf abit, I begin to lose the strength of the signal, and it ends with that the computer disconnects from the network. I have updated the drivers etc. but to no awail. I think I read something about chaning channels to avoid interfering, could this be it? If someone would help me I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you very much in advance.

please delete this topic.

Channels are changed on the wifi access point/router, and not on the client laptop, so unless the networks are all yours, there isn't much you can do. It sounds like you're getting many distant routers but none very strong.

With built-in wireless, you won't be able to upgrade your antenna, either.

You might be able to get wireless internet through a USB wifi dongle and place it inside a parabolic dish for stronger connections, but this is a klunky solution if it improves anything at all.
