Default DHCP & 3054CB3+D

Hi,
I have just installed a client site with 3 NL-3054CB3 PLUS (Deluxe), all set to AP's one on channel 1, one on 6 one on 11, firmare is latest and previously to putting these boxes in we had 1 netgear box. all use same WEP key, SSID is hidden and wireless roaming works as does the wired network we put in. DHCP is set on microsoft server and again works fine from wired network. Ramdomly when wireless PC is turned on, it fails to get IP from DHCP server. I have never come across this and as i get the IP on the wired network i can only point the finger at the wireless setup and some sort of latency, im now running out of idea's and the customer is running out of patience. I turned off 2 AP's to test with just one, same problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
I have installed quite a few of these boxes and they have rocked....so far
Paul

Hi Paul

The problem as I see it:
-3 secure access points that will not allocate a dynamic IP address.
-1 secure access point that will not allocate a dynamic IP address.

Need more info:
-MS server 2000 or 2003?
-What is the card in the back of the wireless computer thats trying to connect to the AP's

Solution Ideas:
Starting with one AP
-Reset to factory defaults for the AP.
-Set up AP to allocate dynamic IP address
--Failing that turn off DHCP and assign a static IP on the wireless computer.
--Assign a class C network IP 192.168.1.???, subnet of 255.255.255.0

-Set all computers to the same workgroup "WORKGROUP" etc..
-Check the domain settings of the computers and what domain MS server is set to handle.

-If you get a connection going then implement security.
-Check that you dont have the card in the wireless computer & AP's set to the wrong mode (adhoc).
--Set to infrastructure.
-Check that the AP's arent set to repeater mode or rolling ssid.
-Unhide the SSID
-Check that MS server is set to allocate IP addresses to the network.
-Check that the IP TTL is not set to some ludakris small time.

Thats just a couple of ideas im sure you have tried most of them, but i just chucked them in there incase.

Hope this helps.
Joe
