This little technical hitch is really getting on my wick, i have searched these forums and it seems everybody else is having the total opposite problem, I am trying to enable both my wireless and my Ethernet adapters, so i can bridge the connection and use my laptop as a wireless access point (in effect). I plan to connect to the wireless network ( that has an internet connection) from my laptop then bridge that to Ethernet and have the Ethernet connect to my router which would then be distributed to my wired network pc's accordingly.
Internet -----> Wireless Router -----> Laptop -----> Wired Router -----> Network PC's
I have checked out the advanced settings of my wireless adapter and disabled the 'disable upon wired connect' option which is 'supposed' to cancel out automatic wireless disconnect and Ethernet connect. But it keeps disconnecting my wireless cnnection upon ethernet cable insertion.
Is there another option somewhere that i am missing?
I am using a HP/Compaq NX8220 Laptop with a Broadcom Wireless Adapter (BCM4318) using Windows XP SP2, i am using the Broadcom Wireless Suite to connect, i have tried using windows to configure my network and i am still having these problems.
Any Help/Input would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks
