Default DSL modem with USB connector

I just purchased a Linksys router for my home. My DSL modem is an Alcatel Speed touch - it connects to my desktop with a USB cable. There is no way to connect the modem to the router. What do I need? Also, my desktop is old and doesn't have a network card. Will I need a card to resolve this?

My goal is to get my laptop wireless access in my house. I am looking for the easiest and least expensive soltion. Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks.
