Default Dwl2100ap

Have the following setup
PC (192.168.1.24) wired to DWL2100AP (WDS bridge- 192.168.1.22) wireless to DWL2100AP (192.168.1.21) then wired to DWL2100AP (client mode-192.168.1.20) which links to wireless router (192.168.1.1)

The PC is running XP home and can only access by Web interface or by ping to 192.168.1.22 and 192.168.1.21 and not 20 or 1
When PC is replaced by laptop with XP pro it can access all four, 192.168.1.22, 21, 20 and 192.168.1.1

All IP addresses have same sub net mask 255.255.255.0
this is also the subnet mask at the wireless router. Am I getting IP conflicts somewhere? Should everything from my PC to client mode be on different IP range? The laptop was used to set up the DWL2100AP in client mode and now appears to be the only thing that can connect.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I think you will find the DWL-2100AP in client mode is causing the issue. Normally you can not run more than one network device behind an AP in client mode due to limits in the 802.11 specifications. This is one of the reasons for the introduction of WDS; it helps overcome this limitation.

Sometimes you can overcome this by setting the client to use repeater mode instead (even though you are using the Ethernet port) as this forces the use of WDS and allows the link to bridge properly.

Can't use repeater mode as the wireless router is non DLink and is someone elses. Any other suggestions?
Seems strange the laptop with XP Pro works but the PC with XP home doesn't.
