I'm using two Compusa routers (rebadged Edimax routers). Before I went off to school this semester, I had one router connected to a PC and a cable modem acting as an AP. I had the other router in my room connected to my xbox and PC, set in station-infrastructure mode to act as a wireless bridge.
The setup was working fine, but after taking one of the routers to the dorm to act as an AP and bringing it back to use it as a wireless bridge in my room again, I can't get it working. The router acting as the AP works fine as I'm browsing the internet using its wireless signal on my laptop. The other router has the LAN setup fine as I can ftp into my xbox with the PC in my room, but the two routers aren't talking, so my PC and xbox can't connect to the internet.
The router in my room is set in station-infrastructure mode, and when I press "select site survey", the router sees both the AP in my house, and two other APs in the house next to mine. However, when I select my AP to connect to, the router gives me the error "Set WLAN BSSID error".
Upon further inspection, I have found that in the device status menu, under LAN configuration, both routers have different IPs, the same Subnet Mask, both have DHCP servers enabled, and both list their MAC addresses.
However, in the Wireless configuration on the same page, the router in my room is set on Station-infrastructure mode, has the same ESSID as my AP, is on the same channel as my AP, and has the same security as my AP, but its state is listed as "scanning" and its BSSID is 00:00:00:00:00:00.
Anyone know how to fix this "Set WLAN BSSID error"?
