Default forced to retype WEP hex id!

I've just assembled this Core 2 Duo machine running Win2K SP4, and integrated it into the house wireless network: a Dell laptop with a proprietary access point, a Linksys Wireless-G, a 300G Maxstor wireless HD and -- in the new machine (Asus P5B-E mobo)-- a Zonet Mimo card. All are happy to play together until I shut down the new machine. When I bring it up again, I can't bring it online until I type the whole damn WEP hex string into my site on the list of networks (several neighbors have private(?) networks). Talk about a PITA! Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm no network mavin; I just follow instructions, and the Zonet board has none.
O.
