Default Help connecting two routers together

Hi,

I was hoping someone out there could offer me some help and assistance in adding a router to an existing router (is it called bridging?). I’m sorry but my knowledge on routers and wireless is not excellent so any step by step manual would be great or if some could tell me what to do would even be better.

I have two netgear routers (Model No is WGR614), the modem cable is inserted into the Internet port of the first router and everything is working fine (wireless and internet is excellent) however I have another router which I want to use to boost my signal even further. Any help would be excellent.

Thanks

I dont know much about bridging, but you might try the Netgear website, they might provide you with help in bridging both your routers.

Desperado,

Are you trying to bridge the routers wireless, ,or by cable? If you are trying them wireless, do they support wireless bridging?

be careful of the word "bridging" a wireless bridge is where you have two wired networks and wish to "bridge" them together to share resources, basically creating one big network.

however what you describe is just another wireless acces point added to your existing network allowing you to "boost my signal even further".

see http://www.wirelessforums.org/how-to...her-37891.html "rob" even drew a nice picture for you, note that he didn't mention the WAN port, this is because you will not use it on your new router.

hope this helps,
g.
