Hi
I'm having problems with my Belkin wireless router (f5d96030-4).
I can connect to the internet but am am having problems resolving certain web pages (for example, I can connect to Google but not to
www.yahoo.com).
From the command prompt I can ping all web sites including Yahoo!. It appear to me to be a DNS issue.
I've rest the router to factory settings and still have the same issue. I've also tried updating the firmware and still have the same problem. I've also reloaded an older router configuration file and still had the same issue!
I've manually entered the ISP's DNS settings as well as allowing them to be selected automatically and still no good!
The funny thing is when I try my original ISP's ADSL modem (wired) I can connect to everything and can browse all web pages. Hense I think the problem lies with the router.
Getting to the stage of giving up! Can anyone please help?!
The problem appears to have occured after installing my firms VPN software (Avantail). However, I've unistalled the software and can't understand why its only the wireless and not the wired connection that is causing issues.
One final thing! When I do a NSLOOKUP I get issues when connected to the wireless router. Message is:
***"Cant find server name for address 192.168.2.1: Non-existant domain
***Default servers not available
Default server: unknown
Address: 192.168.2.1
However on the wired network I get a dns server and ip address od my ISP's DNS server and dont get this error message.
I'm running windows XP. Any ideas? Thanks
