Smile Hp 520n Power Help

I have a Hp 520n.
Comp:Hp 520n
Procceser:1.3ghz
Hardrive:60Gig
Memory Ram:512Ram
Power Supply:bst atx-1523d d4

Computer Problem: It wont Turn On Fans wont work No lights will work its like its dead But when i go to plug Power up to it The green led light in the back on the power supply Will turn on for not even a half a sec when i plug it in.But if i wiggle it the light will stay there.I got so frusteraded and Hit it a lil with no power in it and the green light would flash.But when i hit it with power nothing happen i tryed every thing.This happen once before And all i did was keep wiggling the power cord in the computer and kept clicking the power buttin after 15 min it worked i could shut it off and every thing nothing went wrong for about 6 months
But recently It done it again and i cant get it to turn on. It started this again after we reset the breaker i am only 15 years old so i only know how to do Some stuff nothing major so please msg back i realy want this computer Thanks.

It sounds like a dodgy power supply. Is the computer still under warranty?

Nope Its like 5 years old and we only had a 2 year warrenty

You might want to take it to a local computer store and have them take a look at it. Although it may be hard to diagnose if the problem isn't happening all the time.

Explain to them what is happening and they'll probably suggest a replacement power supply.

Hi,

I agree with Noodles, this is due to either the power supply or motherboard. You can strip down the comp and try, ( only motherboard, proc, pwr supply) if it works, some issue with the rest of the devices or its a mobo or pwr supply

I had this exact same problem on my HP531W cpu after a power surge.
The supply would not come on, led would flash for 1/2 sec..etc
The problem was the supply.

I ordered a replacement from here:
► Bestec ATX-1523D power supplies

Problem solved.
