Default HP Pavilion dv6000 network adapter issues!

I have an HP Pavilion Dv6751us Entertainment Notebook PC

It was working fine one day and just suddenly went to hello.
I have a broadband connection through Frontier with a WiFi connection. I use the WiFi to get on the ipod touch, ps3, wii, etc!
This HP laptop WILL NOT show connections. ANY CONNECTIONS.
When I try to connect it says:

"The wired netowrk adapter is experiencing problems."

Yet no trouble shooting technique seems to help!

I have went into the DEVICE MANAGER and clicked beside the "Network Adapters and the only thing that shows up in the little drop down box is:

NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller

There's no adapter in there. The wifi light on the front left of the keyboard is always orange.. never blue.. and this is becoming real annoying. Can someone please help me figure out how to get this laptop working again. As a college student.. it's hard to come up with the money to keep replacing these pieces of technology.

Default

I would remove the card and replace it, on the theory that the notebook got banged around and the card is not seated properly.
