Default ide campact flash card

hi there

i just got a compact flash card and ide adapter for it

i have a linux box and i have put the card in the secondery spot on the ide cable

know i want to be able to copy stuff to it but it want work

this is what i get when i do dmesg

You have setup the HDD correctly in the BIOS, right?

cant say i've ever used cf cards under nix but it seems to me like it's trying to read it as a hdd, so trying to find out whats on it my guess is that it has no format of any kind or something allong thoughs lines

i am downloading i linux that will boot of a cd so a can put the cf on the primry ide

ill tell you how it goes
