Default Intel 3945ABG(onboard) to Intel Pro 5000 AP

Windows XPsp2 running on HP/Compaq nx7400 laptop.
Windows detects the wireless network, but when I click on Connect, nothing happens. The access point is an old Intel Pro/Wireless 5000 and only uses WEP for encryption. I have entered the correct WEP key.
Are these access points too old for the newer w/less cards?

Default Problem Chipset

Hi There
I had a memo from Senao the other day saying intel had problems with this chipset not working with the Prism chipset AP's. They said you should update the driver first before doing anything else.
Cheers
Dale.

Thanks. I finally did get it. I had to flash the AP with an updated driver.
