I am trying to join 2 networks via wireless access points. I am using linksysWRT54G routers and upgraded the firmware to Alchemy- pre 7a v3.37.6.8. After hours of work managed to get them to connect according to the status link but I cannot access the other systems across the link for resources or Internet access etc, I cannot even ping further than the router even though theoretically they are linking. I have WRT54G#1 router connected to my RTA300 ADSL and have the WRT54G#1 in AP mode and the WRT54G#2 router in client mode.
I know the settings on the router#1 are fairly correct because I can connect wirelessly via my laptop out the web or access files etc from other systems but not from laptop > router#2 > router#1 > Internet

Anybody got good ideas??

thats a tough one!

i guess u have #2 set to get its ip from your dhcp server or are u using fixed ip's?

you could check that if u havent already

seems as if #1 is working if u can use you laptop so it must be a setting on #2 - could it be a wrong encryption key? ummmmm mmmm ahhhhhh hmmmmmm

not much help i'm afraid

Thanks Mos but got it sorted with making some mac entries into the WDS page on #2. Installed the whole setup and at this stage everything is working great. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
