Default Linking Two AP's

I'm just interested in its possible to link two access points and still be able to have clients connect in, i hear that bridge mode is only a direct connection between two routers and nothing more, is there anyways else and how do you this?

I'm wanting to link two U.S. Robotics SureConnect 9106 4-port Wireless ADSL Gateway routers

Cheers.

need more info.. what is it you are ultimately trying to achieve and why?

Actually, summarise the following:
who, what, when, where, why, how

Obviously the how comes from us, but we need the context of the rest...

No, its not hard.

You want WDS mode, - The DSE ones do it when they are in repeater mode, and the linksyses have it with the sveasoft and other firmware.

How to do it on the USR's - well I cant help you there.

Heres a screen shot of my options:

Because i don't have "WDS mode" does that mean i have to enter each person that wants to connect in to the MAC addys to keep it secure ?

You may want to see if anyone has some alternate firmware for it along the lines of all the ones for the linksys gear,

Otherwise, sell it on trademe for an obscene amount of money and buy a pair of linksyses

I take it you are talking about my router being the other USR9106 that you want to connect to.

We could try using geffs Linksys as a repeater between but i dont think that will solve the problem.
Any way im still trying to get my arreil up and it doesnt help the holidays are starting and i have to shift home. Im leaving the gear with the flat mate over the holidays and i will be back some times to update my download list.

DSE finaly delivered the antenna(afterter 4 1/2 weeks) but it was the wrong size, i took it any way. Then the flat owner decieded that we would finaly put it up one fine day till we found the walls where almost a foot thick and we need real long screws or bolts atleast.

It looks like in bridge mode it accepts client connections in as long as you don't have "Bridge Restrcit on"
