Default linksys G WRT54GS help

Ok so i'm kind of new to this whole wireless thing, don't know all that much about it. I was able to set it up alright, I have an internet connection, and am able to access just fine. If I leave my PC on for more than a few hours unattended, I lose my connection. I try to release renew IP, nothing. I can't even connect to the router. Which makes me think it's an issue with the card itself. It doesn't detect any signals at all until i reboot my machine. once I reboot everything is fine.

Like I said I'm kind of new to this so i'm not even sure where to look. Every time it stops working, i reboot. Don't even need to touch the router

I tried reinstalling the drivers, no help.

My router is a linksys G WRT54GS with speed Booster.

Set up for Auto Config (DHCP)
Network mode - Mixed
Channel 6 - 2.437 GHZ
SSID broadcast enabled

My Card is a PCI Linksys Wireless G with speed booster.

Any other info needed please let me know what is needed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Try killing the speedbooster feature and see what happens, sometimes this can cause the connection to mysteriously drop. Also try installing the very latest drivers for your card and firmware for the router and see if it helps; many people who have had similar experiences have fixed it this way.

** Sorry for the late reply, been a little busy

Ok, well I made sure the speed booster is already off, same results. Driver for the ethernet 3.100.46.0, I looked for an updated driver but didn't see one. That was the most up to date on the linksys website.

The router is Version 6 1.50.06. again no updates to be found.

Still not a very stable connection. Connects at a maximum of 11Mbps most time and signal strength is very low. Instaed of dropping due to inactivity it is just now random drops. Eventually it will drop to 1.0Mbps and cut out. Resetting the linksys monitor will allow it to reconnect most times.

Any other ideas?
