Default Lobo 916N

Hi,

I am trying to get 2 lobo 916N units to work using the 5.6Ghz channels.

I have added a bridge at each end but I cannot get them to speak to each other. My knowlegde of these units is limited and I am not able to connect using the lobometrics manager. Currently I am connected using winbox.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a good tutorial or even help with the config.

Thanks Mark

Winbox? Do these run Mikrotik RouterOS or something?

They are based on a modified version on Mikrotik. Most docs. and setting are applicable.

If you want to make a transparent link I suggest you to follow this tutorial (http://www.34t.com/data/924TransparentBridge.exe) or do the following:

1 ) Reset the device to factory defaults using this (http://www.34t.com/data/916PWsetup.exe)

2 ) Put both devices in "AP Bridge" mode (Interfaces/wlan1/Wireless) and with the correct frequency and band settings.

3 ) In both, create one WDS interface with the MAC of the peer 916N

4 ) Create a bridge (Bridge/Bridges) and then in Ports (Bridge/Ports) put inside the new bridge the wds and the ethernet (ether1) interfaces.

That should be enough for a basic connection. If both Lobos can't see eachother change from antenna-a to antenna-b (or inverse) in Intefaces/wlan1/Advanced.

Next step will be adding security and using aditional WDS modes (faster). Let me know if there is any issue or contact m.dobson@lobometrics.com and he will forward you any needed documentation.
