Default Losing router connection during download

I have a Dell XPS with intel proset wireless manager. The router is a Belkin. The computer connects and works fine with the web browser. When i open Microsoft Outlook and send/receive starts something happens to the router that causes the send receive to fail and ultimately disconnects the computer from the router. Other computers also lose connection to the router. When I reboot the router everything is fine until I open Outlook. I was able to download updates for my Quicken data. When i tried to download a pokerstars software update it also crashed the router. Any ideas?

try uninstall the intel proset manager, use only the basic wireless driver.

Anyone using an open unsecured network risks exposing their data. There are many ways to see who's connected on a wireless connection, and to gain access to their information. As more sensitive data has been wirelessly transmitted over the years, the need for security has evolved. Today, with criminal hackers as sophisticated as they ever have been, wireless communications are at an even higher risk.

i think it would be best if you upgrade the firmware of the router hopefully that would work.

The problem is that your ISP sees this kind of download as a peer-to-peer file sharing connection and thinks your are getting pirated music or movies. Thats is why it disconnects your router.

To get around it, go to one of the major gaming websites like 3D gamers, file shack, file planet. If you download it that way it shows up like a normal web browser download to your ISP and you won't get disconnected.

I think the website GamersHell.com - Largest Independent VideoGaming Website (gh3d.com) - GamersHell.com has it too, thats where I get most of my patches from...I think...
