click on start/connect to / show all connections / "your built in wifi"
right click on it and click repair.

Try going into the wireless network properties, removing all networks from the list. Windows should quickly rediscover the network and prompt for any security settings required.

Here in NZ were are 12 hours ahead of your time.

Have you tried obtaining the latest drivers for the card from Toshiba?

Default Atheros

IF you have Atheros, upgrade atheros driver via Microsoft not via Toshiba for latest driver. Cured all my connection issues!!!

Ok guys, looks like I found the answer to this problem. I was having the same issues on my Toshiba U305-5077 and I found this quite by accident. Go to:

www.aps2.toshiba-tro.de/

and click on downloads. Go through the model name/number etc and then find the file named:

atheros-wlan-vista-731109.zip

This will cure the problem at least for those of you who have the Atheros AR5007G network adapter. Maybe it works with earlier models too?

Funny thing is I called this hotel's network management hotline (Trinicor) last night about the problem and they told me all about this issue. They've been having problems with it since the Vista release. They even called Toshiba USA and they didn't know what to do. Today I called 'em back and helped them *L* They hadn't heard of this fix. It's new, dated Sept 2007. Strange it's listed on a european site though.

Happy putering
