Default My Sony Vaio wireless connection stopped working

I have a Sony Vaio FS96OP with an Intel 2200BG Network Connection. I connect to my wireless via a Dlink wbr-1310. It has been working fine and I was in the middle of something and it just stopped working. It no longer picks up the network, or any of the networks that it normally detects in nearby buildings. Other computers in the house are still able to access wireless. The device manager says that the network adaptor is working properly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. None of this seems to help. Any suggestions?

Hello SSparker,

got the exact same thing here today, working on my laptop (VGN-A417M with 2200 BG intel wireless)

Checked with my other laptop (work) and this one was able to connect to the wireless network...so it's not that ... then i tried connection to the wireless router with a ethernet cable and this works great aswell...seems to me like the adapater died out on me..

Windows not mentioning anything wrong, installed the latest driver and the whole bunch, everything seems ok, except that it just doesn't find the wireless network (or any other)

Help!

Hi Guys!

I've just checked on my wife's vaio and the switch is indeed on. I got blue-screened from a virus and when the sony booted it self up I wasn't able to pick up any wireless networks. The message windows gave me was to refer to the 821177 thingy in the knowledge base. I've followed this through, but have been unable to launch the WZC service due to not being able to find where I launch one the dependencies (something about I/O user mode for NDIS - rough translation as the laptop is configured in portuguese).

The other services mentioned in the 821177 article (PnP, telephony, etc, etc) have been started.

Thanks in advance

Anthony
