When I run an Ethernet cable directly to the router I can get 8 Mbps. I have already updated the firmware of the router. Unplug/plug the router, do a hard reset but it is still stuck on slow. Any ideas what is causing the problems? I know the short answer is get a new router but I kinda want to know why it wont run to specifications? Plus I am broke and won't upgrade router for a while. | If you Google [ Netgear MR814v1] you will find quite a few reports of this problem and the reason for it - the WAN port on the Netgear MR814v1 is only 10Mbs, not 10/100 as the LAN ports are. |
