Default Netgear Router - Wireless connection Ok but no internet

Hi, really stuck so if any1 can help ill be in their debt.
I have a netgear DG834Gv3, provided by Aol. Im using XP, and trying to connect 2 other pc's and a laptop to the router. Im using safecom usb adapters on the pc's and the laptop has a built in wireless reciever. I have so far managed to get them all connected to the router, to the extent that the system tray icon comes up saying connected - good/poor etc..., i finally got them to do this after setting up static ip's on the computers to match the routers. However i am unable to get any of them to connect to the internet. But the computer with the router attached connects fine (im using it now). I have tried messing about with ip's, security etc... but to no avail. I have also tried allowing internent connection sharing, but i get an error messae saying "an error occured... a LAN connection is already configured with the ip address need for automatic ip addressing". I can't see why there is this message. I do however have an xbox connected to the router, and this still works fine. I have searched other similar threads but none really apply.
Thanks for any help, Jimmy

EDIT: --

Ok, think i'm getting somewhere (maybe), i think i need to get the routers IP to 192.168.0.1, this way i can get ICS to work, however, when i manually set this there is a conflict and i lose the internet connection all together, so there must be something on my network with this IP address, but i cannot find it anywhere, i have tried changing all other IP address, but when pinging the IP (192.168.0.1) it still comes back with all 4 packets so there is no loss, but where is it!? Any help is gratefully recieved. Jim

Try this......

Since you have static IP addresses setup, and all the wwireless links work OK...which means from each computer you can ping the router (192.168.0.1), then you will need the following:

To see or get to the internet each PC needs to know how to get there. The router will not automatically coneect them. It just routes traffic.

Try one PC for start. In the network settings you need to add a gateway address. This will be 192.168.0.1 which is the router (for your case).

You will also need a DNS address. This allows the PC to find the DNS server, of which will be your provider, AOL. This DNS address should be in the router configuration when setup and running. You should be able to go into the router menu and get this info.

Let me know how it goes.

i have opened the router settings, changed the gateway address, and dns servers to both a LAN settings it has, and an ADSL settings it has, both with no luck. I have taken the laptop to college, and it connects to the network fine, with an internet connection aswell. Therefore it must be how the wireless adaptors talk to the router, or the settings in the router? On the main PC connected to the router, it still connects to the internet with no problems, as does my xbox 360 wired to the router. I have managed to get the network connection on the main PC to "ICS enabled", but now it dosn't give me the option to turn it off? This one is completly above my head, any help much appriciated.

I'm assuming you've tested the laptop close to the router to make sure it wasn't a signal issue.

If a wired connection works but a wireless one doesn't, it's often a firewall/encryption problem. Sometimes it's not even the router, but a firewall on the computer. Have you worked it out yet?
