I have a TV(older tube type) in the same room as a desktop PC running wireless G. The connection to the internet works fine when the TV is off but slows to a crawl or completely dies when the TV is on. The connection to the Netgear Rangemax router (2 floors down) remains, but ineternet access slows or drops. A notebook computer in the same room does not have the same problem.
So far I have tried
1.changing the channel on the WiFi from 6 to 11.
2.plugging the TV in a different outlet.
I have not tried
1. moving the TV or the desktop to a different location (not practical) or
2. moving the laptop in close proximity to the TV to see if I get the same problem
My thought would be to get an external antenna for the router. One that extends the range. Maybe that would push through the interferrence from the TV. Then thought #2 is to replace the TV.
