Newbie Help signal

Becauce of you people I went out and got a Surecom EP-9500 2.4GHz 11M Wireless Lan Access Point $159.00 and a Surecom EP-9428 2.4 GHz Wireless Cardbus PCMCIA Card $69.00, i have got it all working BUT if i go about 10 meters form the AP the signal dropes off reconnects all the time. Or even if the AP is not in the same room as me. Help :cry:

I should say to it says i have an Excellent signal but keeps disconnecting and reconnecting all the time.

Is there a easy way to get better signal or am i @#$%ed.
is it you get what you pay for.
