Default Oh My God Please Help Me Folks

hI ALL

I am a first time poster on this site. I have found some brilliant ideas for my network so thanks to all the talented people on here who contribute.

I have a Netgear router, running free Sky boradband.

I also have a IBM thinkpad T40, i ALSO have a Cisco 340 Wifi card.

The issue is that the card detects the network but wont accept the network key as it has to be hexi decimal charicters or somthing to that effect.

Does anyone know a way i can get these to marry up with eachother to save from spending a whole £10 on a new card.

If you set up a network key on your router, and your card will only accept hexidecimal keys, it means the only valid characters you can use in the key are letters A through F, as well as numerals.

You could try a different type of security ( given your technology supports it). Try something like WPA-PSK (with AES). I'm using that right now for my 5 computers, and haven't had a problem yet. You only have to enter one key for access. Which can be anything you want.
