Default Panel Antenna Problems

Hi folks, I just bought this antenna and notice no difference between it and my default card's antenna. I share a connection with a neighbor and the antenna is attached to my card. He has tried moving his router, we've switched from b to g mode and back again. We even tried switching from channel 1 to 11 and back again. Firmware is up to date. Even restarted/rebooted the router. Also covered the other simple troubleshooting steps. No change! Is there something in the specs to indicate an inferior product?

Router: DLINK VWR
Card: Zonet ZEW1602
Benchmark: inSSIDer: before -72RSSI, and after the new install -75RSSI !!
Cable Type/Length: Pigtail, 12 inches.
Connectors: RP-SMA

I've had great luck even with very inexpensive panel antennas such as this.
The best solution might be to add on on his end, depending on the router he has and whether an external antenna can be added.
Also, Just double check your connections, RP-SMA pins are small and can break easily if misthreaded.

I'm thinking of rewiring my house with Cat6 and adding data ports at every phone jack. No problem, done this type of job a dozen times before. However, I would like to add wi-fi capability so I can sign up with a service.
