pc won't boot--just continuous beeping...

hi all! new to ur forum as of today--what a great site! here's the lowdown: home network setup with BellSouth WestellVersalink 327w router--wireless with Netopia 3dG USB sticks, for wireless pc's. all was fine with 3 pc's networked--main: win XP home, other 2: win 98 se ed.--all fully patched. however, BS tech.'s out to home on 3rd visit 'cause 1 pc wouldn't latch onto 128-bit encryption key, and kept jumping around to other networks in neighborhood. tech.'s are hotshots--(unlike phone support)! anyway, last time out thought it was fixed--i go to pc next a.m. and pc won't do A THING--except beep, beep, beep, etc. LOUD! same tempo and dynamic... monitor won't do anything except "click" on. not one second passes before this starts--no time for startup disk, booting into DOS, safe-mode, ect. Have unplugged everything. 80-gig's, 64 MB's Ram, PackardBell PC. yeah, older 'puter, but all has worked great--i take really good care of my pc's. i'm pretty well versed in hardware and software, having worked as a tech. in both areas. this all happened right after the BS tech.'s finished their stuff--but for the life of me, even if they did something, which i highly doubt, what could it be? there is obviously SOMETHING causing these beeps and NO boot. an error code, anything that could point me in the right direction? this pc is no great loss, except for the fact that: I USE IT AS MY BACKUP/STORAGE drive--(i know, i should backup to tape...). thanks for any help!
