I just bought the TP-Link TD-W8960N modem/router and I'm having a problem staying connected wirelessly. I first noticed the problem when I was trying to download a large file. The connection kept timing out so I'd have to start the download over again. So, finally, I installed a download manager with resume capability and the download still stalls but at least I can pick up where I left off and finish.
I've read several other postings about this particular modem/router and they all seem to have the same problem - staying connected wirelessly. I've tried connecting to the TP-Link web site but I can't. I just bought it less than two months ago so I should have the latest firmware but can't be sure. I don't even know if this is the problem but I don't know what else it could be. As far as I know, all the settings on it are what they should be.
All of the possible solutions that others have suggested to fix this problem were to no avail. I really think there's a DHCP issue with this router. I wonder if TP-Link is going to address it. Having to disconnect and re-connect over and over to resume surfing/downloading is a pain in the a**. As of this posting there are 12 other wireless networks within range. I don't know if any of them are causing interference with my wireless signal or not.
I'm using encryption so I don't think anyone is piggy backing on my connection or anything like that. I've also got the unit set to not announce its SSID. Has anyone got a solution for this very annoying problem?
