Problem with wrt54g2

Hello.... Im kind of new in this wireless stuff... In Deceber I installed this new router liksys wrt54g2.... I get internet in my laptop wirelessly... the only problem is that it seems that I disconnect and connect again in my msn messenger and in skype.... And sometimes my messages are not delivered and sometimes I dont receive hem too.... I already upgrade the firmware version of the router.... And I dont know what else to do... so if anyone please help me.... thanks in advance....
