Problems with Netgear WG511 v2

Hi

I am running windows xp sp3 with a netgear router and netgear wg511 v2 card.

i wondered if someone could assist with the problems i am having with the card.

i have installed the software from the cd provided. When I boot the laptop up the green light on the card does differing things on each occasion.

1. It doesn't light up at all - on these occasions I have to go into the netgear icon and unselect my internet and then select it again, re-enter password and then the light will come on.

2. Continue to flash and not connect to the router. I have to deselect my internet option to another one, reconnect and then click apply. I have to do this several times for the connection to stay on for more than 30 secs

3. Sometimes the light will be permanently on and then just turn off completely.

On some occasions I have to unselect my internet and then select it again, reboot the laptop and then it will work.

I was hoping someone could give any assistance so that when I start my computer, the card automatically turns on and finds the internet.

The card I previously had was exactly the same but got damaged so bought a new one. I never had to install the netgear software with the old card, it just started automatically but when I insert the new one, it doesn't work unless I install the CD.

I have tried using the windows option to connect to the internet but this seems to be even less stable with the new card.

Can anyone help me with this frustrating problem?
