Signal But No Internet (HELP!!!)

i have just got a belkin adsl modem with high-speed mode wireless-g router and a belkin high-speed mode wireless g USB network adapter.
i have set the router up and the usb and am recieving full signal on my laptop but no internet.
the internet is connected as it says so on my router.
any ideas?

The first thing to do is to plug your laptop directly into the switch on the wireless router and make sure you can access the internet that way. There is a chance that because they are both Belkin devices that they are on the same IP subnet. A router will not route outside its own network if the gateway address is in the same subnet. The easiest way to check this is to look at the address of the AP and DSL modem; they should have different base ip addresses like 192.168.0.X and 192.168.1.X
Also temporarily disable any third party firewalls to test that it isn't blocking your connection.
