Exclamation SMCWPCI-G EU card does not work

I'd like to ask your help in the following, problem, but my english is quite poor so sorry for it.

I used smcwpci-g eu pci card (with a same router) but after reinstalling windows xp it hasn't been working. The card is good, because in an other computer it was detected.

I installed the driver but it didn't find any wireless card, however twice the xp detected like an ethernet controller but i cannot install driver for it.

I hope i've given enough information but if not please ask me!

Please help me!
Thx
gabor

Have you downloaded the latest firmware and driver from SMC Networks - Power to Connect and made sure it was the XP version?

Perhaps you could "uninstall" the card and start over.

I'm still not sure what can be done if the card has never worked at all under your current installation of XP.

Sometimes a device will still have a workable driver in it after a driver installation fails. This can be retrieved by going to the System control panel => Hardware tab => Device Manager.

There you find the device, open it, and click "roll back driver".

Since you probably wiped everything clean with the reinstallation of XP, this might not work.

The card doesn't work without it, I tried it. (it seems and send message: problem with device.

I hope there wasn't anything important for it on the last xp, because it would be so bad.
Geocorona, thank you for trying to help and I am looking forward your new advice on pci card.

I don't have the kind of money it would take to try out much hardware, especially the best hardware, so I can't give recommendations on much of anything.

My advice on buying is to search the Net and read as many reviews and complaints as you can find before getting anything.
