Default stuck w/ backup dial up

hi,
about 2 weeks ago my wireless on my notebook stopped working so i set up our backup dial up account on it and i've been using that ever since. the issues w/ the wireless have been resolved but my notebook will not use the wireless once it is connected. if i connect it using the dial-up or slow wireless (manually change it to 1-5.5mbps) i can use my internet but as soon as my wireless connection goes 11-54mbps, i can't browse the internet/connect to IM etc. have i accidentally changed a setting or something since my pc won't use faster connections?

thanks!

ps: ive uninstalled the dial up and tried again but the same results happened i do have an IP address assigned by DHCP etc

You want to set it to not use the dialup at all.. Open Internet Explorer..

Click Tools-->Internet Options
Click Advanced Tab
You'll see three bullet selections.
- Never dial a connection
- Dial whenever a network connection is not present
-Always dial my default connection

One of those is probably what your looking for.
