Default Toshiba A105-S2712 Wireless Issues

My laptop has the satellite wireless and at home I can connect on my wireless signal with no problem.

At work, I have a very strong signal and the newtowrk key for the wireless router. When I go to connect, it just attempts to connect but never will. The IT guy at work said it's a problem with Toshiba laptops and he's not sure what the fix is.

I called Toshiba and they walked me a trhough a few processes but it still doesn't work.

Anyone know how this can be fixed??

Thanks!

You may want to check with the IT guy what encryption (WEP/WPA/WPA2) they're running and what strength the key is (64/128/256bit), the laptop's wireless card/software may not support the encryption or the key strength they're using.

If that's the case then you'll need to get another network card that does support what they're using at work.

Strange, it'd be good to try it without the encryption to see if it's that though

You could try updating the drivers on your laptop to see if that helps

Another option is to get the IT guy to update the access point firmware (if he is willing). Also try deleting the profile for your work connection in the Windows connection manager and re-enter the security details when the laptop rediscovers the network.
