totally lost....

I have a Toshiba lap top , a dell dimension.. and an xbox 360 that i had in a network .. the xbox is hard lined into the router and both computers are wireless. The problem is.. the xbox was only able to connect media center with the laptop. I wanted it linked into the pc of course it having the larger mem. when i view the network map from my pc it shows everything the same as my laptop except it says bridge where on the laptop it says switch. my laptop also notices the extender on its own. both computers have the same version on vista home premium. But for some reason the pc always says it cant locate the extender. all programs are the same on both. ie security... thanks for the help
