I am trying to install a wireless-g notebook adapter from Linksys (Model: WPC54G) on my laptop. I do not have the CD that came with the card anymore. I tried to download the drivers from the Linksys site. The problem is that in Device Manager ->Network Adapters, the hardware is not showing up so I can't update the driver. When I insert the card, the pc does not recognize that there is new hardware. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

did you sort your problem in the end? I have something very similar - my WPC54G ver 1.2 card also refuses to take a driver - been struggling with it for days!
If you remove the device from your hardware list (click on it and press delete) and restart your PC/laptop without refreshing the hardware list it will pick it up again on the restart.
