Default Unable to uninstall Wireless-G Notebook Adapter

Can anyone suggest how I can uninstall my Linksys WPC54GS notebook adapter please.

So far I have tried using the uninstall via start>programs and from the add or remove programs in the control panel.

Installshield wizard starts up and ask's if I want to completely remove the selected application and all its components, after clicking yes the Installshield wizard shows a progress bar which remains at % then it tells me "Installshield wizard has been successfully removed. wireless WPC54GS network adapter" but it is still there.

If any suggestion needs running the software disc unfortunatly I have misplaced it.

Any help would be appreciated.

you need to go into device manager, right click on my computer, properties, hardware tab and click on the device manager button. Then you can find your wireless adapter under "Network Adapters", right click and do uninstall

Thanks Noodles, I have now tried this, it removes the adapter from the device list but it still remains in my programs and on my desktop. Any other ideas.

You could try booting into safe mode and uninstalling it from the add/remove programs in there. Hold down F8 while your computer is booting.

It sounds like the management utility, not the driver that is still installed. If there are no other problems with the machine then it shouldn't hurt to just delete all the shortcuts and be done. Formatting is quite a procedure and seems a bit overkill for such a minor software issue.

Thanks for reply and I agree reformatting is a little OTT.
You are also correct with regards to it being the utillity.
I am having intermittent problems with my connection so I want to delete the adapter then do a fresh install but it won't let me reinstall unless I uninstall whats already there, which I can't.
So you see I am going around in circles.
Any other help gratefully received.

Sounds like there may be another issue with either something more fudamental in the OS (try running sfc /scannow to get WIndows to repair itself) or maybe an issue with the AP. Why not try updating its firmware or something? It's quicker than a reinstall at least.
