where the rmt file?

I did a hard reset on my WRT54GS, and am now trying to reinstall the firmware. I have downloaded several different ones, some modded ones, and the one that is from Linksys. NONE of these have a .RMT file. all i get is a .BIN and a readme that syas i need a .RMT. My computer is on the screen that says "management mode firmware upgrade" that comes straight up when i go to http://192.168.1.1. Is there something im missing?

I have heard that the readme is in error, and that the firmware should load from the .bin file.
