Hello
I hope you are all well.
This is my first post.
Yesterday I received my Wireless Real HD Multimedia Player IAMM NTD36HD (see below)
With this device you can stream files wirelessly from your Computer to your TV screen. So on your computer you have to share folders that you then can see on your TV screen if everything works the way it should...
Well..it didn't work the way it should ;-)
My wireless setup is as follows. I have a wireless router/access point with built in firewall. The IAMM connects wirelessly to my router (I could see the wireless symbol on the TV screen and it shows connected as well). The only problem is that I don't see the shared folders on the TV screen.
My firewall settings allow file sharing and port 21 is open as well. My router is secured by WEP 128. (WPAPSK I had to switch off, because my Sony Aibo dog can only connect via WEP 128). UpnP enabled. Wireless Zero configuration enabled.
I am running Windows XP Professional SP2.
My PC is not running the Windows Firewall as I have a hardware firewall in my router.
I created the "share" on my computer, but I can't see the folders on the IAMM.
I enabled the guest account as well.
I guess the reason why I can't see the shared folders on the IAMM is because of the IP adresses and gateway and sub net mask settings?
Connection settings in the IAMM
Connection: Access Point (ad hoc didn't work)
IP address: non static (should I give it a static address?)
Sub net mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: Currently my router address (do I need to change that to my internal Computer IP?) I have got the feeling that the IAMM only connects to my router, but to access files on my Computer it needs to pass through my router.....How do I do that?
The other problem is that I can't see connected wireless devices icons under my Network places. The only icon I see is my wireless router, but I can't see the IAMM icon or even the icon of the Sony Aibo (even though he is connected).
What do I need to do here?
Thanks so much for your help.
Cheers
Stef
