this is my first post, and already a question - sorry for that
First, sorry for my bad english.
I don't speak it very often.
I have a problem with wireless adapter wifisky 2000mW
and I use omni antenna 6 dBi
This is the problem:
For a few months this antenna worked perfetcly, I had about 20 AP-s in range with excellent (5/5 bars) or good (4/5 bars) signal strenght and at once my signal strenght and amount of AP-s fall down. Now I have 7 or 8 AP-s in range with 3/5 or 2/5 bars signal strenght each.
I didn't make any change in antenna position or driver which is using it.
Now it's connected with dual USB cable (double A to mini
, lenght about 1,5-2 meter.
When I look in backtrack 5 with command iwconfig
I get this result: Tx-Power: 20 dBm
So, I google it, and find out that Tx-Power: 20 dBm is equally to antenna-power: 100 mW.
Why this antenna, if does, works with 100 mW when it's 2000 mW.
I had the same problem with Airlive wl1600-usb and 10 dBi omni antenna. It worked perfetcly for a few months and then didn't work that well.
If anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem, please post here.
