Exclamation Wireless adapter can ping but no Internet

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've never seen anything like it.

A friend has been having Internet problems, so she asked me to look at her laptop. First thing was that she had the adapter disabled (doesn't help at all). When I fixed that, I was able to see and connect to my local wireless network.

Via the command line (in Vista Home Premium 64-bit), I can ping internal and external sites, as well as run nslookup. When I try to load any web page, check email, etc, I get nothing.

Any ideas on what the issue could be?

TIA!

if you can ping external site such as yahoo.com, google.com etc and yet you cannot display website, you might have DNS problem, you can flush your DNS to see if problem resolved

you could also use http:// followed by the IP address of the webpage ( since you can ping, you would get the IP address)
if this http command can display, then it is your DNS issue

you could always use other DNS from Open DNS, Comodo DNS, Google DNS, many to select, just try one and if it works, use it
