Default wireless problem

i'm unable to connect to the internet,although the signal strenght is excellent.
the only thing it can do is sent out packets but can not recieve them.i've also tried on cliking the repair button but it say's it can not renew my ip address.i don;t know very much about computers so any help please.

That message means you computer cannot obtain an IP address. You either need to set one manually according to your network, or use a DHCP server.

What do you use to get on the internet? Do you own a router or modem, or are you using a hotspot service? If you can answer these questions will make it easier to help out.
