Default Wireless problems

Hi, i have Toshiba Equium laptop model L20-197, belkin Wireless router model number F5D7230-4. The problem is i cannot get the signal, i have tried the fn+f8 key and this does not work. i have windows controlling the adapters settings and it says the hardware is disabled. the device in control panel is enabled and i dont know what to do.

I know it works because my other laptop can access the router and it works.

could this be due to incompatibility issues?

Thanks.

Default ok.....

hardware device enable key was on the front of the laptop i.e. between the base and the keyboard level. this is hard to find if your sitting with the laptop on your 'lap' genius place ffs.
