wireless router "connected" but i cannot access the internet

Hi, thanks to anyone who can help me with this one,

i have just started a TalkTalk broadband account, my laptop can see my wireless connection "belkin54g", even when i access the router set up page and go through the wizard it says" internet connection" connected in green in top right hand corner, but when i click on my browser it will not connect to internet, even though i plug in my speedtouch usb modem and it connects straight away, does anyone know of any settings i have to change to get my internet to connect through my router ???

Hi there, Have you tried plugging into the ethernet ports on the Belkin? If you can browse to the GUI on the Belkin through the wireless then you must be getting an IP address from it and have security correctly set up. If the Status shows that you are connected to the internet then there may be a DNS issue. Some computers seem to have an incompatibility with automatically assigned DNS server addresses on some routers. I would try and enter you ISP's DNS server details manually into your Belkin. I am assuming that you have had your wireless adaptor working before on other AP's.
